About Us
Our office is located in Nagoya, Sakae area and conducts intellectual property services focusing on the close communication with our customers. The firm is medium-scale patent agency of 18 members in total, established in 2006. Frequently asked, “What does GRANDOM of Grandom Patent Law Firm mean?” In English notation, it is written as GRANDOM. It is, of course, a coined word, which comes from the combination of grand and -dom. GRAND means magnificent, dignified, bestest etc., and -dom is used as a suffix, like the word freedom for example, as the meaning of “state of…”.
However, the true meaning included in “GRANDOM” is not necessarily our desire to be a magnificent office. We have a strong passion to engage in work in a dignified manner and provide the highest quality products to our customers at all times. To that end, we have constantly been seeking for outstanding talent and trying to improve individual abilities day by day. At the same time, since the intellectual property service including the administrative department is a professional collaborative work, we place the emphasis on the unity of the organization as a whole. More than anything, the most important factor is the close communication with our customers. For example, with regard to patents, we strongly recognize that patent specifications are collaborative works through the communication with our customers. We have experienced for many times that the true nature of the invention made by the inventor(s) becomes apparent through the discussion.
